Frame for iPhone
Privacy Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
Frame does not collect your data. Your photos stay on your iPhone, and the app has no servers to send anything to.
The short version
Frame reads your photo library on your iPhone to show you one photo a day. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing you keep, delete or edit is uploaded anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go. The only network request Frame ever makes is to Apple, to buy or restore Frame Pro.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share personal information. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Your photos
Frame needs access to your photo library to:
- read your photos, so it can pick one each day and show it to you;
- delete a photo when you swipe left. It goes to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you can bring it back for thirty days;
- add a photo to your "Frame Portfolio" album when you swipe right;
- save an edited copy to your library when you edit a photo and tap Done. The original is not changed.
Choosing the photo, scoring it, applying a look and rendering an edit all happen on your iPhone. No photo, thumbnail or metadata is sent to any server, ours or anyone else's.
When you use Share, iOS hands the photo to the app you pick. What happens next is governed by that app's privacy policy, not ours.
You can limit Frame to selected photos, or take access away, at any time in Settings on your iPhone. Without access to photos Frame has nothing to show.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder, iOS schedules a notification on your iPhone each day. Nothing about it reaches us.
What Frame stores on your iPhone
- your streak;
- which photos Frame has already shown you and which are in your portfolio, as references to the photos in your library, never copies of them;
- your reminder time and a few preferences, such as whether you have seen the gesture hints;
- an index of the dates of your photos, so Frame can pick from your whole library and not only from recent months.
None of this leaves your iPhone. If iCloud Backup or encrypted device backups are switched on, iOS includes it in the backup with the rest of your apps. Those backups are Apple's, covered by Apple's Privacy Policy; we have no access to them.
Frame Pro
Frame Pro is sold through Apple. Your payment is processed by Apple, and we never see your payment details, card number or billing address. Apple tells the app only whether you have bought Frame Pro. Purchases are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and your App Store account terms.
Children
Frame is not directed at children under 13, and collects no information from anyone, children included.
Deleting your data
Everything Frame keeps is on your iPhone, so deleting the app removes it. Your photos are yours and stay in your library, including the "Frame Portfolio" album and any edited copies you saved; you delete those from the Photos app.
This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds nothing from third parties. Its font is served from this domain, not from a font provider, so loading a page here does not tell anyone else that you visited. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
